Established in 1988, The Ireland Fund of Great Britain distributes funds to community organisations across the UK whose focus is to support Irish people who are in health, housing, social or psychological need.

We raise funds in the following ways

  • Fundraising events - to learn more about our exciting events click here
  • Sponsorship, recent sponsors have included San Leon and Niche Group
  • Our Supporters Network
  • individual fundraising - one fantastic example of this is our co-Chair Basil Geoghegan who recently scaled the heights of Mount everest raising over £113,000 so far.  To read more about this amazing achievement please click here

The IFGB invites charities, community groups and voluntary organisations to apply for a grant from The IFGB.  These Grants are used to fund organisations that provide essential services to members of the Irish community across the UK. Grants are only distributed following a thorough assessment of all applications by our Grants Assessment Committee. 

Typical grants are awarded for organisations that support: 

  • Elderly or vulnerable Irish people
  • Survivors of institutional abuse
  • Homeless people
  • Vulnerable young people
